Short Bio

Hung-Yun Hsieh received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in Electrical Engineering from National Taiwan University, Taipei, Taiwan, ROC, and the Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, Georgia, USA. He joined the Department of Electrical Engineering and the Graduate Institute of Communication Engineering at National Taiwan University in 2004 and leads the TONIC (National Taiwan University Mobile Networks and Wireless Communications) Research Group based at the Barry Lam Hall.

Prof. Hsieh's research interests span the areas of mobile networking, wireless communications, and signal processing, with focuses on mobility and multimedia support in heterogeneous wireless communication systems, network protocols for vehicular ad hoc networks, and multiple access technologies in cognitive radio networks. He is the recipient of the ACM MobiCom Best Student Paper Award in 2003. A list of his publications is available here.
